Mah Shares Insight and Vision for Newly Formed Public Policy Division and Business Advocacy in Thurston CountyJoin the Thurston County Chamber's July Forum and hear from former Olympia Mayor, Doug Mah, on Wednesday, July 12, at 11:30 a.m. at the Hotel RL Olympia.
In 2016, Mah joined the Public Policy division of the Thurston County Chamber as an independent contractor. At the July Forum, Mah will share his insight and vision for the newly formed division, including a look at the current local public policy environment and upcoming issues that will impact the region. Attendees will learn about issues and candidates on the November ballot and the outcome of the Shared Legislative Agenda, all from the perspective of creating a prosperous economy and vibrant community.
Mah served as Mayor of the City of Olympia from 2008 to 2011. During his 10 years on the City Council (2001-2011), which included two terms as a Councilmember, he led the way for significant public investments including a new city hall, regional fire training facility, fire station, regional wastewater service center, children’s museum, and rebuilding the city’s premier waterfront boardwalk. He brokered successful deals, improved intergovernmental relations, and was an outspoken advocate for the community.
